Anticancer and Therapeutic potential of Linum usitatissimum extracts against Breast (MCF-7) cancer cells

Description: Today, medicinal plants have the potential to discover new and valuable medicines. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world. Breast cancer is known to be one of the most dangerous diseases worldwide. In the present study, the anti-cancer effect of Linum usitatissimum extract on MCF-7 cancer cells was investigated. Ethanolic extract of Linum usitatissimum with different concentrations ( 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 mg /ml ) has studied on the viability of MCF-7 cells in three-times (24, 48, and 72 hours) with MTT test. The results of the MTT test showed that the effect of Linum usitatissimum extract depends on the dose and time, which means that as the time increases, the viability of the cells decreases and the viability of the cells is inversely related to the increase in concentration. The results revealed that cell viability is significantly reduced compared to the control sample in all treatments. IC50 was also observed for cancer cells at
