Activated carbon (AC) are promising technology for improving water quality and air quality by using water treatment and air filtration process respectively. The raw material for this AC are rubber seed shell (RSS). RSS are affordable and abundant agricultural based product in many tropical countries, particularly Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Several techniques including thermal activation (physical activation) and chemical activation have been successfully developed to convert RSS into an AC which called by Rubber Seed Shell Activated Carbon (RSSAC). Larger surface area and high adsorption capacity of RSSAC could improve the water and air contaminant reduction. It product for future !
