Help! Save the dog

Description: "Pomóż! Uratuj Psiaka" (eng. "Help! Save a dog") is a project creating a mobile and web application, also adapted for the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. The application will include information on administering first aid to dogs and a feature for locating the nearest veterinary doctor. The project involves creating a device that, when connected to an AED defibrillator, will convert spoken words into Polish Sign Language using a Raspberry Pi microcomputer. In the future, we aim to expand its functionality to include various sign languages from around the world, providing access to essential information for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals globally.

"Help! Save the dog" is a research project that aggregates innovative technologies with the needs of various people, especially deaf people, and is an educational tool to increase knowledge in providing first aid to dogs. The application, the main tool of the project adapted to deaf people, contains texts, instructional videos translated into Polish Sign Language, information about the nearest veterinary facilities and the ability to report emergency situations via SMS. A prototype AED device that converts defibrillator speech into text is intended to display important indicators on the screen. Pulsating colors will indicate the frequency of chest compressions during resuscitation by deaf people. In the project, we conduct workshops and training for various communities, including the State Fire Service, Police, City Guard, search and rescue groups and educational institutions, with an emphasis on deaf people and people with various disabilities.
