Description:
Abstract: Innovative application of the unique physicochemical properties of nanoparticles to improve methods of long-term storage of plant material under liquid nitrogen cryogenic conditions (-196oC). The proposed solution includes modification of the composition of the vitrification solution by adding silver (AgNPs) or gold (AuNPs) or copper (CuNPs) nanoparticles with a diameter of 10 - 20 nm and a concentration of 15 - 30 ppm during cryopreservation using the encapsulation-vitrification technique. Additionally, the encapsulated apical buds are plated on a growth medium containing AgNPs or AuNPs, or CuNPs with a diameter of 10 - 20 nm and a concentration of 15 - 30 ppm. Application: - agriculture, horticulture and forestry - protection of biodiversity - biotechnology industry - gene banks Area of Innovation: - accelerating the rate of cooling and thawing of plant material samples - increasing the survival of plant cells - obtaining a better quality of restored plants - improvement of solutions used in research in the field of cryobiology
