Wearable Multifunctional Indicator

Description: The indicator is mainly based on a helmet and a glove. On clenching and unclenching our hand into a fist, the light turns on due to straightening of the flex sensor, and by rotating our hand and head, the light will be projected wherever we point with the help of the steering mount. Our project aims to help disabled people with handicaps, ALS, or other impairments. In this way, they can move objects around or express their needs even if they are confined to wheelchair. Also, this device can provide efficiency for managers during inspections on construction projects at night, as they only need to move their hands instead of the whole arm to hold up torches and emphasize some key points. The following devices including flex sensor, gyroscope, steering mount, laser, single chip microcomputer, and switches are key components of the project. The single-chip microcomputer is used to get information on the angle and control of the laser by detecting it. The flex sensor fixed on the right index finger is used to switch the laser. Further, we extended it to adaptively fit different people with different sizes of fingers. The gyroscope on the back of the glove can detect the direction of the human arm in real time. Here are further applications. The first positive social effect includes providing better living conditions for disabled people or some more mental well-being. Another is the commercial interest; the device can be used in management like lighting in inspection. This indicator can be a popular unique product that supports disabled people’s lives in the market. So, the large number of demands provide more chances to earn profits. Our project has applied patent and intellectual property rights, and we believe that all people in need can get huge help from our product.
